For me, Emails have become a very important method of communication in my day to day life, using it to send and receive messages to people I know.

To aid myself in sending emails, I choose a email server provider that had a spell checking tool so my message would be clearer and more precise when my message is recived.

Some mobile phones now have instant messaging software so you can be constantly talking to your online contacts instantly. A barrier with this is if your phone loses signal or the person you want to contact is offline you are unable to communicate with the,m

having a mobile phone has improved communication to get your message across efficiently, by having a mobile phone you are able to text, phone and use the internet to connect with others to get your message to them efficiently as you are able to carry your phone around and use it whenever needed apart from if there is no signal.
Technologies can be a barrier to communicate for some people such as they might not speak the same language therefore you will need a translater so they will understand the message another barrier to communicate could be geography as some parts of te world may have little signal therefore they wont get your message

A mobile phone has made it a lot more effective to communicate with people as it is quick and it is very convenient as I always have my phone with me. Mobile phones these days all have internet access which allows you to have free applications to contact your friends and be able to access social networking websites to communicate with your friends.
New technologies can prove to be a barrier to communicate for some people because the older generation have not been brought up with the high tech communication methods and it is hard for them to learn how to use the technology.

I would say that Facebook chat has improved my communication skills with people as it is easier than texting at times because im normally on facebook anyway. This is an effecient way of communicating because you know that they have recieved your message and normally you will recieve a reply faster compared to a text message.

New technologies can prove to be a barrier to communication for some people becuase they might not know how to use them and it will confuse them like old people.

I agree with you here, facebook allows you to keep in touch with people you otherwise you never see, old freinds, extended family etc.

Facebook has improved my communications as it allows me to stay in touch with lots of people easily through either writing on their wall, chat or emailing them. Some people may not understand how to use facebook or have no internet access etc.

Social Networking websites have helped with my communications with other people, and it puts out any messages I put on my status’ effectively.
Using my mobile phone has increased my independance and my way of communication.
New technologies may be a barrier to older generations, since they may not understand them.

Having a mobile phone has really benefited me as it helps me to get a message across to people more efficiently. By having a phone it means that i can contact people as soon as possible. This could be a barrier for some people as they may find that mobile phones are confusing.

Mobile phones have improved communication skills because it enables me to contact anyone in my phonebook via text message or phonecall, However this can be a barrier to some people as they may not be able to understand your accent or language, this appllies to both text message and phonecall.

The new technologies which have improved my communication skills or help me to get my massage across efficiently is my mobile phone, i am able to access text messages and picture messages. Also if i had a smart phone i would be able to access emails and social networking sites etc.

new things such as being able to translate text means that people are able to change the languages of texts so people who speak other languages can communicate

I think that new technologies have helped me get my messages across more efficiently because there are many ways to get your message across. Email, social networking, mobile phones and VOIP.

Technology can be a barrier becasue some people might not know how to use technology, our generation have grown up with technology so we can use it but our parents and grandparents may find it more difficult to find out how to use technology. Also people may not be able to afford technology such as laptops, mobile phones, this could stop you communicating with them from other parts of the world.

Communication skills that have improved recently are the intoroduction of things like bbm allowing people to connect with eachother in an instant on their phones.
Some people may text people with text language which many people may not understand and will not fully be able to relate to what is said.

Hey technology can be a barrier because as we become more a more developed, less devloped countries will fall more behind, and the space they need to catchup will become even more.

new technology can be barriers for some people as there is certain things that stop people from cummunicating, such as age, gender, money and geography problems.

I think new technologies are great for communicating with friends and relatives (Facebook, Windows Live/MSN, Twitter) however an older person (maybe middle to old age) wouldn’t be able to be as up to date and won’t understand this new technology as well as other generations, which could leave them feeling left out of the modern world.
